Utah's premier winter mountain bike race
Who says snow has to stop you from riding your bike in the winter? Don’t miss the Utah winter bike race of the year with 150 riders making their way through the snow in the Frozen Hog race held by Bike Peddler. Why would you want to ride your bike in the snow? To show that you can! Just by participating you win the bragging rights to say you’ve conquered the hog!
Register before the race for only $25. Registration is $35 on the day of the race. It’s highly recommended to register soon since spots fill up quickly. Snow or shine, the Frozen Hog race will be held. If there is a major snow storm, the trails will be shoveled before the race.
When: Feb 6, 2010 at 9 a.m. Check-in begins at 8 a.m. with a pre-race briefing at 8:50 a.m.

Where
Check-in at the Bowery Pavilion in Lambert Park located on the east bench of Alpine, Utah. Parking is at the bowery and overflow parking is available at the rodeo grounds just 1/3 mile down the road.
Race Course
The race starts at the Bowery with the main race loop including half single track and half broad double track that is approximately 3 miles total. The course splits at the south end for an additional upper-mountain track for experts. Some race groups may start at the same time to get everyone on the trail in a timely manner. Other groups will start within 1 or 2 minutes apart.
Who
Anyone can participate including men, women, experts and children. There are different course features for each group. Only 150 racer slots are open! (We reserve the right to allow more riders beyond the 150 on a case-by-case basis.)
Awards
Individual awards will be given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each division. An overall champion will be named to the fastest expert rider. A four-person team award is also awarded.

Notes
- Helmets are required to participate.
- iPods and other headphone devices are not allowed during the race.
- When the trail is too narrow for two riders, the overtaking rider may call for a clean pass once he/she is within 20 feet of the rider. The front rider must find a spot to get out of the riding lane within 15 seconds.
- For expert riders, a new difficult section on the upper mountain will be in the course.
- 12 and under riders may register for only $25 on the day of the race and don’t apply to the 150-racer limit. They also don’t ride on the main race loop.
